Since 14.12.2022, the course of action to register a vehicle is changing. These changes appear in the Governmental Decree № 1019 of 10.09.2022.

What does it mean?

The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that the changes relate to the expert inspection of a vehicle by the Expert Service of the MIA.

From now on, it shall precede any application for registration or re-registration of a vehicle.

The experts of MIA have also noted that in a short time, Ukrainians will be able to register a vehicle online using two gadgets – the seller’s and the buyer’s.

What steps does the new procedure include?

Registration of a vehicle shall take place according to the following procedure:

1. Obtaining the expert concusion about the vehicle from the Expert Service of the MIS;

2. Having this expert conclusion, the vehicle’s owner and the buyer or their representatives apply at a service centre of the MIS to re–register the car (also available online).

Additionally, according to the Decree by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine №1299 of 04.11.2022, having ordered an online replacement of your driver’s license or re-registration of the vehicle, you may choose an option without producing a physical document.

In other words, if you have only your e-driver’s license and your car’s e-registration certificate with you, these documents give you all rights to drive the vehicle.
