Since December 14, 2022, Ukrainians will be able to get a driving license and a vehicle registration certificate in a digital form.

What does it mean?

The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that in December already, it will be enough for Ukrainian drivers to have only an E-driving license and E-vehicle registration certificate to verify their right to drive a vehicle.

In other words, issuing these documents on plastic bearers becomes optional.

A driver will have a choice:

• Online issued e-documents to verify the right to drive a vehicle;
• Standard plastic driver’s license/vehicle registration certificate issued by a Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Important: the issue of e–documents will be available exclusively online in the “Diia” application.

What are the benefits?

First, it saves time and money spent before on plastic bearers.

Second, this is the next step to digitalization to reduce the share of bureaucracy between the state and its citizens.
